Connecting and sharing is a good thing.
THE KIND OF INFORMATION WE WANT USERS TO CONTRIBUTE AND WHY
TreatmentDiaries.com enables users to share daily diary entries online, around specific chronic condition(s), so that the collective knowledge of millions of members can be shared with others affected by the same condition.
The type of data users may submit to TreatmentDiaries.com to share with the community and be included within their profiles and diaries may include:
- - Condition/disease information, including symptom information, diet, exercise and medication regimen
- - Course of treatment therapy
- - Symptoms experienced, including severity and duration
- - Biographical information, biography, gender, age, location (zip code country) and general diary entries
In the course of using the Site, TreatmentDiaries.com may also prompt users to provide certain information about themselves, including an email address, date of birth, cell phone, screen name and user-selected password (“user information”). TreatmentDiaries.com will not automatically include or display User Information in shared Profiles, unless users chose to make it available.
Users may enter as much or as little information as they like and should not enter any information they feel uncomfortable sharing. Users are encouraged to share health information but should consider that the more information that is entered, and the more personally identifiable the information is, the more likely it is that a user could be located or identified. Although users’ personally identifiable user information is not displayed on their profile page, all TreatmentDiaries.com members can view the information in the profile, as well as other areas on the site where members can share any information, including health information and personally identifiable information through free text (e.g. bios, diary entries, scribbles). TreatmentDiaries.com, like most Internet communities, is a public forum and users acknowledge and accept that any information shared is connected to the profile data above.
Cookies are required to use the TreatmentDiaries.com. A cookie is a small data file, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to users’ browsers from a website's computer and stored on a computer's hard drive. TreatmentDiaries uses two types of cookies: Session Cookies and Persistent Cookies. Session Cookies are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of a browser until users log out of the website. Session Cookies do not store any personally identifying information, only a unique visitor ID number that we can use to customize the TreatmentDiaries.com functionality for users. Persistent Cookies remain in the cookie file of a browser for much longer, even after users leave TreatmentDiaries.com. Persistent Cookies also do not store any personally identifiable information, only preferences that should persist from visit to visit, like "Remember Me".
TreatmentDiaries.com offers a simple approach to preserving privacy. Users may either choose to make profile attributes public or keep them hidden.
Users may change privacy levels at any time. Regardless of which level chosen, personally identifiable user information not contained in a user’s Profile Data, such as email, will not be revealed to others without a user’s consent.
Because the value of TreatmentDiaries.com is in sharing experiences to connect and share with others, we hope that users feel comfortable enough to make their profiles as visible as possible.
OTHER SECURITY ISSUES
TreatmentDiaries.com cannot guarantee the identity of any other users with whom users interact in the course of using the website or who may have access (based on the privacy level selected) to information posted in a particular diary. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the authenticity of any data that users may provide about themselves.
Finally, TreatmentDiaries.com takes commercially-reasonable technical precautions to help keep your data secure.
We are passionate about the concept of sharing your condition experiences and day-to-day activities. Why? Because when people share real-world data, collaboration on a global scale becomes possible. New treatments may be uncovered. Most importantly, change becomes possible. At Treatmentdiaries.com, we are excited about bringing people together for a greater purpose, finding genuine information from real people to provide hope and empathy for those in need of connections.
